"Slugging" seems like an overstatement. That was an ugly game by both teams.

The first half was very ugly. KC should have taken greater advantage of their field position in the first half, and I worried that they would let the Eagles back in the game. KC's offense didn't really show up until the 4th qtr when they needed it.

But the keys to the game were this:

- For the third straight week, KC hasn't committed a single turnover. They are not dazzling people with stats, but they are playing smart football. By contrast, Eagles threw 2 INTs (one returned for a KC TD) and fumbled the ball 3 times (which led to at least one KC FG)

- KC had nearly double time of possession (39:07 vs 20.53).

- KC chewed up 4:45 of clock to score the TD that made it 23-9, and then that long drive that took up 8:15, where they started at their own 5, converted several key third downs, and kicked a FG to make a 2 possession game with just four minutes to go. That was HUGE.

So that fourth qtr was "grind it out" football, and that's not the kind of game the Eagles are likely to win. KC just beat two NFC East teams with fourth quarter gut checks.

Eagles had 3-4 big plays and that was it (though I'll give the Eagle defense credit for playing better for the first 3 quarters). The long run by Vick in the first half, and a couple of big plays in the 2nd half....that was their offense, basically.

The announcers brought up a very good point, one I thought about early in the game. Chip Kelley lost one game at Oregon last year....Stanford beat Oregon by taking away Oregon's high screen roll. Andy Reid did the exact same thing. Kelley is advertising his game plan too openly and he is looking at a losing season if he doesn't rethink his game plans. This game was so odd for me because I'm a big Oregon fan, and yet I was rooting against Kelley last night. And for years, I rooted against Andy Reid...but last night was a different story!
