I assume by juristic person you mean a company as opposed to an individual.?

Yeah, I think if Amazon had a button on checkout that said "Are you gay?" and you clicked yes they should be allowed to cancel your order. :-)

There are "public accommodation" laws which were necessary at the time they were passed. Involved hotels, restaurants and stores. I do agree that today you could probably repeal them and it would not have much impact on (unless LL Bean refused to sell to lesbians or the NBA banned non-Caucasians) Sometimes it is hard to remember just what a really ugly climate there was for so many within my own lifetime.

Of course anything that involves public money, public subsidy of any kind - that's a different matter. it is the very reason I think all religious organizations should lose any tax exempt status unless they are willing to play by exactly the same rules as anything else in any way funded with public money.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
