I don't use .Net but I find it surprising this seems to be not trivial.

The links I've found in a quick Google imply you need to temporarily map a local drive letter to the share, then you can get information e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1799984/finding-out-total-and-free-disk-space-in-net
