Agreed. The government shouldn't do it, but something has to change or the government will eventually step in as it has in Europe. And often, the government's "cure" is worse than the ailment. Take the AHCA - there's no question we needed health care reform. No question at all, But the AHCA is the worst kind of medicine. Ted Cruz should just sit down and shut up and let the Democrats and Obama "own" it.

For a lot of reasons, union power has declined steadily and no institution has filled that gap.
The result has been a steady decline in the economic status of working people and a steady increase in the wealth of business investors. At one time, Labor unions served an important role in the U.S. Today, aside from some exceptions, labor unions are a pure joke, corrupt to the core with fat cats and huge lobbying, and have harmed their members more than they have helped. And in the grandest of ironies, multiple unions have requested AHCA exemption. I would love for the hacks at MSNBC (Maddow, Matthews, Hayes, etc.) to explain that one.
