You do know that our borders are as secure as they've been in a long time, right? We've reached the point of diminishing returns in adding more guards. The money we'd spend that way could be much better spent in lots of other ways.

Actually, no, because that's not correct. That's a line the Obama administration has promoted again and again. There are specifics that dispute that.

Take a look at the lawsuit filed by 10 ICE Agents and Officers against DHS and the ICE Director, regarding deportation procedures and the directives from DHS to violate existing federal laws...by directing agents not to enforce them.

It's ironic that this conversation started with AHCA and the unconstitutional mandate, because the lawsuit really exposes the constitutional conflict that Obama has brought forward with the DREAM act and attempts by the executive branch to extend it without going through Congress.

Additionally, what came out of this lawsuit earlier in the summer is how much the current administration is cooking the books regarding deportation numbers. There are internal emails in the lawsuit that talk about pressure from higher-ups to create a false impression on the # of deportations.

I have friends in the military who have said that of all the B.S. and propaganda that comes out of the current administration, their stance on immigration is probably the most inflated.
