Nah, I think you're completely missing the point about my selection process ;)

If the point is that a "blind" selection of home teams will do just as well as selecting each team individually, I understand where you're coming from - but actual pools "do" force everyone to assign a weight to a selection.

Actually, if we applied that to the NHL picks, it would yield some interesting results, given that NHL playoff games in recent years have favored the road team :)
