When I was living in Chicago there was a skunk living under my porch for several months. He made things quite aromatic. One of my neighbors, who ran an auto repair shop out of his garage down the alley, dubbed him Pepe Le Peuw. It wasn't original but it was apt. The neighbor who lived between us was unfortunate enough to have his garage door sprayed by Pepe. The smell was there for months.
His sad demise was to be run over by a bus on California Avenue.
