Meanwhile, how about you apply the same severe prose to MS's Cloud outages in the last 18 months? Rip into them the same way you went at this website. Or maybe not.

You obviously don't get out much and don't know me very well :)

I was on an MSDN radio show in the last year and stated that I thought projections for when the MS cloud would truly be "prime time" were optimistic, and I used the outages as an example. I knew the host wasn't thrilled with my response but still allowed me to voice my thoughts.

For years I've been concerned about (and have written about) the lack of functionality and stability. I have a community session on getting started with SQL Azure databases where I spend a healthy amount of time talking about what's "not there" - much more so than other speakers in the industry. I've also pointed out that the interface for Azure changes frequently enough that we really need to look at it as "evolving" and not quite there in many aspects.

Two years ago I was very concerned on the entire MS Cloud offering - at a point where some where saying, "hey, in a year from now, if you're not in the Cloud, you're SOL", and I disagreed with those statements. Today I think the future looks "better", and the recent offerings for Office 365 and Power BI for Office 365 look promising - but in all candor, more time and work is needed for this to hit a greater mass.


In the case of ACHA, once again (for the hundredth time), the context is very different. Every individual is mandated to buy health insurance by a certain date. The date for the exchanges was announced a long time ago. Far greater scrutiny is called for. Apples and oranges, John, apples and oranges.
