Jesus was kind to people, but He also warned them to stop sinning, that unless they take up their cross and follow Him, they cannot be His disciple, nor can they enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus did not have a one-sided ministry (kindness only), for there is no power of salvation there, but rather He spoke to those people in truth, warning them of the coming wrath of God, of eternal judgment. But Jesus also knew that there are many who will not hear the word of God no matter how many times it is spoken. He said that He came not for those, but for those who will hear. There is even a parable about this, about the bad seed sown in with the good, and the servants asking if it should be ripped up? The master replied, "No, because by ripping up the bad seed some of the good could also be harmed. Let it all grow up together, and then it will be clear to see which is which at the harvest."

Jesus is love. He offers His free gift of salvation to the poor, the prostitutes, the down and out, and also CEO executives with million dollar salaries, and Wall Street gurus, and software developers, etc. But He also warns about what is to come for all who do not receive Him.

It is so horrible what is coming. It is an ETERNAL torment in the flames of Hell. It is why Christians reach out so strongly to warn people about it. To give them their voice that they should repent of their sin, turn, and be saved. Jesus paid the price sufficient for ALL to be saved. He calls out to all that all who will hear will be saved. And not one who was given to Him to be saved has ever been lost. Only those who will perish are perishing.
