It's hard to disagree with any of those choices. Like you, I loved "Chariots of Fire." Fellini was more of an acquired taste. I did not like all of his movies.
The thing about "Citizen Kane" was it was so radical for its time. It did things with camera angles and lighting that had not been done before.
Here is a sleeper for you, not any kind of big hit -- "Absence of Malice."
