>Ok, here we are with the request to generate a PDF from scratch, based on tables and fields, in our application. So, the client wants a clean good looking PDF report. Anyone has a good recommendation of a library that would be as simple as dropping a DLL in the Bin directory and obtain that namespace support from the .NET project?

Definitely look at iTextSharp

http://sourceforge.net/projects/itextsharp/

very versitile and powerful and can also be very useful for filling out PDF forms. If you really want good looking PDFs one way to do it is design the layout using a good graphics program, then make it a PDF form and fill it out with iTextsharp from data. (you can scan forms, for example and make fillable PDFs and then fill them in with iTextsharp)

It also had the ability to completely create a PDF from scratch, but I think that is the hard way and I would at least start with a template, just as you would use letterhead stationary in the "old world"

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
