No that I know of. Take into account that the error message will appear only if you are using the column name in another SQL clause, it will work otherwise (in your example you could have kept the repeated column in the SELECT, but when you tried to ORDER BY is when you get the error) (Not sure if it is clear what I mean, but select DESC_PROF,CODI_PROF,DESC_PROF from PROF order by 1 works just fine
