Jim Irsay was quoted saying Peyton should have led them to more championships. I read in the paper that Peyton is pissed about it and is out for blood. >
>As much as I hate Denver, I hope Peyton walks into the RCA Dome on Sunday night and throws for four bills and 4 TDs and then shoves the ball down Irsay's mouth. NFL Owners tend to say silly things when they open their mouths in the press, but Irsay's comment was idiotic.

>Imagine if Indy were coached by a head coach with a pedigree (like a Parcells or a Coughlin).....that head coach would tell the owner to STFU, because stupid comments in the press are only going to make it that much tougher for their team.
Agreed. As Collinsworth said, releasing Payton to take Luck was absolutely the right move. Irsay's comments were exactly the wrong thing to say. All he had to say was "I look forward to seeing Payton so we can say thank you for all the wonderful things he did for the Colts and our fans."

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
