Thank you for your reply. I hope you don't mind me asking a follow up question. It sounds like your
solution turns the whole column one color or another based on the value. Am I wrong in this
assumption? The reason I ask is that my initial explanation of my goal may not have been clear.

What I need to be able to do is have row 1, column 1 be one color and row 2 column 1 be a
different color. Following is an example of what I need. I will use B for blue, G for Green, and R for red.

col1 col2 col3 col4

row 1 R B R G
row 2 B B G R
row 3 G G B B

I hope this makes it more clear. If you response takes care of this just say so and I'll give it a try.
If not, any other ideas would be appreciated.
