>Mostly because every time a Democrat twitches the Republicans have been crying 'WOLF!!! WOLF!!!' to the point that people just don't care anymore

>There's no question the Republican party is in tremendous disarray, and they grandstand too much.

>I am very disappointed in Daniel Issa. There is a very compelling case of collusion between the White House, the FEC, the IRS, and the IRS chief counsel regarding Conservative/Religious groups. He's had "great cards", so to speak, but has not played them well. He's handled them in very anti-intellectual terms.

>About the only Republican I know who can communicate in a sophisticated manner is Rand Paul, but even he will step into the party mud just enough times to look silly.

Have you ever met Dan Goodwin? He's a VFP/VFE guy who has some pretty sophisticated PAC donor software that is popular on K street. One of his clients is Rand Paul (when I partnered with him we also had Ron Paul and the goal was to get Ru Paul so we could claim the hat trick <g> ) You guys would hit it off. He's about as wired into the fiscally conservative politicos as anybody I know (another client was Toumey and Club for Growth) He's very impressed with Rand Paul as just being a very very bright guy. (Dan comes from a rather interesting family. He's kind of the blacksheep of the family as all his other 5 or 6 siblings are doctors. His mother was a shrink, I believe, and his father is Fred Goodwin, who was head of NIH under Reagan.)

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
