I'm not saying that there won't be any problems here in europe. I'm trying to say that the Y2K problems are just the same as in the U.S. as Western Europe is concerned.

I have to say that sometimes people are over-concerned about the Y2K problems. As i earlier stated, i worked for a big insurance company which had some FoxPro 2.6 applications running. We had to test each application black box while source code was available. This ment we had to test each date field :
1. We could not enter a invalid date for e.g. {31-13-1999}
2. We could not enter a invalid easter day {29-02-1999}
3. We could enter a valid easter day {29-02-2000}

Then we had to test each date-relation to output (was the output correctly calculated with the date input) before, in and after the year 2000.

Then they concluded that the date type was not Y2K proof since it automaticly adds 19 before a two digit year while there was validation on the fields for correctness and set century was on. We acctually had to remove all the date types and put them in to caracters.

I flipped and i quit. I could not believe such a big company made such a mess of a Y2K project.
