At this point he may not want the job. I believe he came into office idealistic. Naively idealistic. I do not defend everything he has done, or not done, but it has to be viewed in the context of an opposition which from day one has attempted to derail everything he has tried to do. Sure, hyperpartisan politics did not start with this presidency but I don't think it has ever been this extreme.
