>I believe that would be the Republicans.

>ROFL and LOL!!!! The republicans who have a majority in 1 out of 3 of the legislative and executive branches of government. What the heck can they do to obstruct anything? You are starting to sound like Obama - if you can't blame Bush, then blame the republicans. Obama, himself, was responsible for sequestration but has continually blamed it on the republicans. Furthermore, Obama tried to make both sequestration and the government shutdown as painful as possible for the American people. He closed Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and the Statue of Liberty but Camp David was kept open. What kind of presidential behavior is that?

>Also, if 800,000 federal employees were deemed to be non-essential during the shutdown, what makes them so darn essential now?
Marcia, you are around the bend. I thought you understood our legislative process better than this. In many cases you need a 60% majority or even 67% to pass legislation. When the parties are split about 50-50 that is seldom possible. Hence, gridlock.
President Obama did not cause the sequestrian. Between 30 and 80 Republicans in the House (depending who's doing the counting) did it by trying to attach a tax cut to a health care bill. Obama refused to go along with it. That is not causing it.
I can see there is not going to be a reasonable discussion political discussion so will bow out. You may have noticed I am not participating much in the political threads any more, other than when something particularly outrageous is claimed. I am happier this way. Best to you and Andy.
