It seems there's not much in between - people either love Apple or they hate the environment.

I hated it from a distance until 3 years ago. My only real experience until I got my iPad was with an iPod, and I was disappointed with the sound quality.

But after years of an iPad and now an iPhone, I'm hooked. I think it's all about habits and what people find engaging - and also what people are willing to tolerate in exchange for "content reward". iTunes isn't the best UI in the world but there is a ton of music up there I've been able to get.

Then again, I currently have no vested interest as a developer of apps, beyond the fact that the latest offerings of Microsoft BI web tools can be viewed on an iPad. So I look at it almost exclusively as a consumer. Again, everyone has their own view of things.
