Also worth mentioning a few of the quirks of view - especially in regard to Order by which has made me more than a little crazy Oh, my god, that one has driven a few people crazy over the years. Not only with views but also with subqueries. Partly because Microsoft made a few tweaks under the hood years ago that had the net effect (and possibly intended effect) of developers taking order by statements out of views.
Pinal Dave is right....the 99% will work but the 100% won't. (somehow there's a joke about Romney and the 47%, but I can't quite figure it out)
Theoretically, you can do a SELECT TOP n...and in the (n), write an expression to figure out the # of rows....but anyone actually trying to do that is probably spending too much time smoking weed :)
