I don't have mixed emotions about Bitches Brew. I just plain didn't like it. IMO it was an upraised finger to white fans who wanted to be cool by liking Miles. It was his intention that we not like it. His attitude was I'm black and I'm proud long before James Brown thought of it.

>Anyway, this is the kind of stuff I can just sit, put my head back, and drift off into. You may or may not agree but one of my favourite Miles pieces is still Bitches Brew. It just kind of talks to me.

>Hi, Alan, good to hear from you.

>I have mixed feelings about Bitches Brew. It's hard for me to evaluate it.

>I like some of his albums in the years leading to Bitches Brew....and don't care as much for albums after Bitches Brew.

>Two great ones just before B.B. - "Sorcerer" and "Miles Smiles". Sorcerer is also one of my favorites.
>
>Also..have you ever listened to "Dig"? Goes back to 1951, and I believe it was with Sonny Rollins. Some good stuff as well.
>
>Finally....if you don't have this....this is AWESOME.
