Nicholas, it's my contention that Obama won elections because of campaigning, messaging, personality, and other factors that have nothing to do with performance or even competence.
Yes, he won two elections, no one can deny that. But over the last 12 months, the country is finally seeing the results of his performance.
Mitt Romney was not a strong candidate, sadly. But I personally believe if the election were today, Romney would win. Obviously, the election isn't today, it was last year. But we shall see in one year what happens in key Senate races.
