I have a feeling this has something to do with mscomctl.ocx and Windows 8.1 64 bit.

I encountered the same message when running one of my VFP applications, on a screen which uses this OCX. The screen is referring to the ocx in this folder:

c:\windows\system32\mscomctl.ocx

but the file does not exist there, it actually is here:

c:\windows\sysWOW64\mscomctl.ocx

I unregistered the version in the sysWOW64 folder and copied it to the system32 folder and registered it there and it solved my problem in my form, but the problem still exists on the other applications, so I guess they use different ocx files which need to be registered there too
