Multiple cores will make little difference for VFP as it can't use multiple cores. Some OS functionality will happen on the other core, thus giving you a slight improvement.

Also, because VFP is a 32 bit app, 8 Gig won't benefit you any because VFP will only be able to use about 3 Gig RAM. If you get a 64 bit OS, you will again get some improvement from the OS using some of that.

A faster process will make a difference.

I totally agree with the suggestion to go with SSD.
