Actually we have words for not only the day after tomorrow / before yesterday (preksutra, prekjuče, which mean literally overmorrow, overyesterday), but also for theday after/before these (naksutra, nakjuče), which I have recommended many times.

Plus, if you could just add words co-speaker (the person one is speaking with, the partner in conversation) and co-traveller (because "fellow traveler" is not always a fellow at all, co-traveller is just whoever is sharing the vehicle with you).

Regarding the article, it seems that english language, in its current incarnation, was written by Microsoft (feature bloat on the ridiculous side, while losing useful features and never fixing non-critical bugs). In the other direction, it seems that the philosophy of Windows closely follows that of the language. Chicken or egg, that is the question.
