>My tastes are totally unrefined. I just finished "The Joy of Hate" by Greg Gutfeld and laughed my a$$ of through the entire book. You probably wouldn't find it as funny as I did. I also love the Nero Wolfe books written by Rex Stout. Andy and I had already read a bunch of the mysteries before we watched the A&E TV series with Timothy Hutton as Archie Goodwin. We were amazed at how closely the TV series followed the books and the characters were almost exactly as we had pictured them.
We do indeed have a common data point. I loved the Nero Wolfe detective series. As a teenager I religiously read mystery story magazines, among many other things. Ellery Queen's mystery magazine, printed on pulp paper, was a monthly habit. Locked room mysteries and whatnot.
