You probably aren't far off there. I have to admit I love the Brazilians. They play with elan and their fans are more or less unhinged. I cheer first for the U.S. -- yeah, I know, what's the point -- and then Mexico, and then Brazil.

Most of the world stops during World Cup games. The last time around I was working at a company with a lot of Mexican-American workers. The day before Mexico's first game I bumped into one of my closest coworkers, a department manager, and asked him how many he expected to show up. He said I'm hoping for 50%.
