Here is one you may like -- I listened to it, and also listened to some other samples up on AllMusic.com. Certainly some good stuff.
There are all sorts of gems out there that aren't exactly in the mainstream. Another band I like is Porcupine Tree. And a few years ago, Green Day proved they could create some REALLY good music.
But Rush is a once-in-a-millennium phenomenon. Geddy Lee is rated as one of the best bass players in the world and has a work ethic second to none....Neil Peart's skills as a lyricist and a drummer are almost legendary....and while Alex Lifeson hasn't always received the same accolades, over time he's gained a high level respect among other musicians.
Anyone's taste in music is always subjective and usually very personal. I first heard their track "Limelight" in 1981 and then saw their famous Montreal Forum concern on VHS, and was in awe that three guys could be THAT good. I've been hooked every since.
