Mike has given you a solid answer - I used that for a client and it works at many sites. I went that way because back then Rick Strahl did not support certifacate security. Do yourself a favor and build on Rick's stuff (AFAIK part of it, if not all of client tools is free now) and if you encounter a bit only coded in the payed-for version, you will have saved more than the amount on issues he already has coded.
