One other thought. It appears that EvtTime and Duration must be in the form "HH:MM" Is it possible that you have some data that's only "H:MM"?

No data that was there that only 'H:MM'. They were a couple of durations as ' : ' so I changed them to 00:00, but no change in the error. Anyway Val(' ') = 1 anyway <g>.

If neither of those produces anything useful, can you give us some CREATE CURSORs and INSERTs to generate some sample data?
