http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/11/us/texas-teen-dwi-wreck/index.html?hpt=hp_t1Absolutely amazing that this 16 year old isn't doing any jail time. He and his friends stole beer for a local Wal-Mart, and he had a blood alcohol level of 0.24, three times the legal limit.
If you're not familiar with the blood alcohol level, .08 is the limit in most states, .16 is anywhere from a very strong buzz to drunk, and .24 is anywhere from very drunk to smashed. .4 can be nearly lethal.
I cannot believe they won't even give him 30-60 days in jail or a detention center. 10 years probation isn't a picnic, but he's got blood on his hands. If he's old enough to have the responsibility of a driver's license, he should know better. The parents might have spoiled him but it was his choice/decision to get behind the wheel of a car that ultimately killed four people.
