The laws are in place. It's a matter of enforcing them.

The prosecution went for the max - 20 years in prison.

So after decades of MADD, PSAs on driving while intoxicated, deaths due to drunk driving - we have a judge who buys into this "affluenza" horse-crap and gives credence to the twinkie-style defense. I'm not saying this 16 year old should be locked up in prison for a full 20 years, but he should have done some jail time.
