>I don't think Ron Paul will ever be elected. He appeals to the narrow slice of voters who think for themselves. Plus he is 78 years old. It looks like his son Rand will run in 2016 as a surrogate of sorts..
I could never vote for Ron Paul. While I like some of his views 20 years ago on remonitization of gold and silver, he is far too much of a pacifist on foreign policy. Though I'm not sure what is worse - someone who is a consistent pacifist or someone who has made as many blunders in the last 18 months as Obama.
One of the reasons I always refer to libertarianism with a little 'l' as opposed to a big 'L' is because of some of the absurd stances of the Libertarian party. They've praised the communists in Vietnam, given tacit moral support to Al Q, and some of them actually CELEBRATED the fact that the U.S. was attacked on 9/11. Ron Paul has never (to my knowledge) participated in any of that, but he's about as unfit for presidency as it gets.
Still trying to figure out Rand Paul....
