I think it time to revisit the definition of modal and modeless forms. A modal form is defined as...

"A window or form is modal if it retains the focus until you explicitly close it. Dialog boxes and messages are usually modal. For example, in a modal dialog box, you can’t access another window until you choose OK in the dialog box."

This means you don't launch other forms from it or do *anything* external to it until it is closed (with the possible exception of WAIT WINDOWs and MESSAGEBOX).

A modeless form is defined as:

"A window or form is modeless if it doesn’t require closing before switching to another form or window. For example, the Command window and toolbars are modeless."

When analyzing the requirements for a system, bear in mind that VFP "expects" these standards to be met and erratic or unpredicted behavior may occur otherwise.
