From memory, Social Security runs out of $ in 2027 and Medicare currently faces a $50T unfunded deficit that means it cannot survive. Both are victims to deliberate underfunding by the gerontocracy that is proud of the assets it privatized by publicizing its own predictable future costs. Lets hope that Obamacare doesn't get diverted down the same route... though the young can't be expected to pay for their own healthcare plus fund healthcare costs for others in programs in which the payers know they'll never get a turn.
