I just cannot get into the Beatles. Some have told me that if I had been born earlier (I was born in 1965, right after the baby boomers) I would appreciate them more. I don't know that I buy that...I wasn't even alive when some of the major jazz names were famous, and I definitely love them. Music is such a subjective thing.
As for Led Z, yes, I should have included them.
Don't know if you know this...but in the period where the group Yes was down to just Chris Squire and Alan White (around 1981 when Steve Howe left to join Asia), they did some demos with Jimmy Page and talked about forming a band called XYZ (Ex-Yes Zeppelin). They tried to recruit Robert Plant, but Plant wasn't a fan of Yes music, so it never really happened. Squire went on to recruit Travor Rabin, and then Jon Anderson returned to Yes, and that formed the Yes lineup of the 1980's.
