Just a minor technical note: you can USE a view without having the dbc open by including the DBC in the name. For example, USE myDBC!myview will open the database _and_ view.

>You probably don't have the DATABASE open yet, it must be open and SET before a view can be opened. If you open a table the database automatically gets opened so maybe that's why it works in one place and not the other.
