I am still not happy with Windwos 8, and receive complaints from my user's in the field who are forced to use a Windows 8 machine. I am pretty sure if you order a Dell or Lenovo direct, you can request Windows 7 (or they will provide you with a Windows 7 downgrade). I like the Lenovo brand (and on mine was able to get a total 3 year warranty for additional $99). I belive Lenovo offers very special pricing this time of the year which can be substantially less than their normal pricing. Good luck with your choice. I use the ideapad line.
