No, definitely wasn't JB.

I've now personally known five individuals who have done this, and it's horrible beyond words.

I never knew Drew personally but spoke to him many times at conferences. He was one of my career inspirations. I still wonder if the entire thing was just a terrible and tragic accident.

This is going way off topic, but just the thought of Drew and his son (whom I saw together at Fox shows) made me think of another individual, Les Pinter, who took his son to many FoxPro shows. (Just for clarity, the only reason I'm bring up Les is for the father-son relationship at conferences, no other reason). Les worshipped his son. That word is one of the most overused words in the English language, but in this case, it's appropriate. I had the chance to thank Les for some Fox code he wrote that I got great use of - he immediately turned to his son and said, "here's the man you should be thanking, he wrote it".

And really going off topic...Les did the right thing and told some museum organization to go pound sand because of an idiotic comment made about wheelchairs. https://plus.google.com/106823007974004651784/about

I'm involved with the SQL Live shows on both the East and West coast and some day Katy will be old enough to go. It would be great for someone to look at my relationship with my kid the same way I looked at Les and his son (and the way I chose to remember Drew and his son).
