>>Dear Ed,

>>Thank you very much for your response. I tried 3 machines, two 98 and the other 95. However, I could not find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\SERENUM in the registries. I tried to search information of my modem and found the key some stuffs in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Modem
>>where I saw the COM my modem using. And, in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Ports, I saw some information about the ports. However I could not determine which was the COM the modem using and did know how to see the IRQ.

Ed,

There are 14 keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum in my working W98 machine:

BIOS, ESDI, FLOP, HTREE, INFRARED, ISAPNP, MF, MONITOR, Network, PCI, Root, SCSI, USB, VIRTUAL
