>>Ok, I watched and listened, and well... we finally disagree on something sort of musically related (rap isn't really 'music'). Maybe not this one specifically (I still don't care for it) but most rap/hip hop, to me, distills down to drivelly 'poetry' (reminiscent of the crap poetry that used to infest the coffee houses in the late 50s and early 60s) to the beat of a beat box or drum machine. Neither a beat box, nor a drum machine have any soul and I sometimes wonder if all the pounding is designed for people who can't figure out the rhythm for themselves. And what's with all the dumb hand gestures that are apparently mandatory in rap?

>Ha, it's OK, can't agree on everything music-related. I general I agree, especially with the poetry. There was just something about the song/video that I found a little more interesting. When I first heard it on the radio, it sounded like a song that might be used as a sports anthem for sports movie.

>On the hand gestured, wouldn't stun me if Miles gave a few single-finger gestures in his career....though probably at the record companies. :)

I don't think I'd be so down on the gestures if the weren't all so imitative. it's the same gestures from every rapper in every video. Rapper after rapper; video after video. Everybody doing exactly the same thing - over and over. The video you posted was another case of that clearly contagious gesturitis. Somebody has to come up with a vaccine.
