Go to your system's control panel, and find ODBC data sources (may be in administrative tools). Create a file DSN connecting to your server, using the parameters you have. When you connect that way (or at least get proper error messages back... repeat until you connect), open the .dsn file with your text editor. Remove the heading line (in square brackets) and replace every line break with a semicolon - you got your connectstring.
