I dunno... for me, going back to smoking took longer. I guess it was because I stopped smoking because I was seriously pissed off at the cowardly and downright racist attitude that nowadays anyone has the right to exercise upon smokers. And nobody said anything openly to my face, but took it on my children, keeping them on the edge of being ostracized just because they had a few molecules of smoke on their clothes. How sensitive have we become to those molecules, while losing any sensitivity over what smokers would think of people who use such words and low tactics... so I stopped smoking to become a non-smoking smoker, i.e. a kind of smokers' ambassador in their ranks. It took just a couple of seconds of adrenaline and later just a reminder, when my hand reached for the box, seeing it's not there, "oh, yeah, forgot, I don't smoke now".

It was a good training. Now I still smoke, but often forget to. Came down to half a pack a day, just because I forget to. And I don't recommend it to anyone, not because of any health hazards (just like nobody believed the tobacco companies' propaganda, the gov't et al anti-smoking propaganda is just as dirty and suspect), but because of the bad people out there who will lose all reason and human compassion when they see them. Want to feel discriminated against, insulted by random people, go to AnyStreet USA and have a smoke. And this rudeness is coming here as well - and it's becoming a health hazard.
