Great minds think alike. I did try to go down that path. From what I can tell, none of the Integration Services work with SQL 2008 R2 express.
I looked at (hopefully this link works)
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645993(v=sql.105).aspxAnd under Integration Services Express doesn't get "Integration Servcies designer and runtime".
When i run the gui version, dtexecui everything is greyed out and at the bottom reads :
ERROR: The Execute Package Utility requires Integration Services to be installed by one of these editions of SQL Server 2008 R2: Standard, Enterprise, Developer, or Evaluation. To install Integration Services, run SQL Server Setup and select Integration Services.
