>>I have learned quite a lot over the last few years, for instance T-SQL, javascript, jquery, HTML5, CSS3 and a lot of other stuff. I have also read 5-6 very thick tutorials about C#, but quite frankly, the more I read the more I kind of hated it. I created a few programs, so I can say that I know C#, but nothing more. So far I haven't needed anything which I am not able to do with VFP and a few external tools. So C# can fly me to the moon, but I don't want to fly to the moon.

>The beauty of languages like C# is that it basically uses the syntax of C. One of the horrors of languages like C# is that it uses the syntax of C. I like C, actually. It's essentially assembly language that talks like a high-level language. How many other languages can you say that exist that have contests (such as the International Obfuscated C Code Contest) in which you're encouraged to abuse it?

Despite the name, doesn't C# more closely resemble Java than C? I think of it as Java for .NET.
