Again, I agree with you. Seems to me that when I was a kid, and when my kids were kids <g>, many teachers had a list of classroom jobs that rotated among the students. The one I remember is cleaning the blackboard, maybe messenger (who took the attendance sheet to the office), etc. Good way to hand out some responsibility. ISTR that we mostly looked forward to having one of those jobs.
