I agree with the statement that people compare their wealth by looking at others that are even more wealthy and disregard the majority of the less wealthy. And frankly... that annoys me.

Personally, I think I'm rich.... not because I do earn a lot of money or property (because I do not), but because of other things in life that I value more than money (health, family, happiness). I think it has been more than 2 years since the last time I looked at the amount of my bank account. It simply because my wife is in the accounting business and takes care of all of that. I just focus on the core business: developing solutions for my clients. Travelling, meeting a lot of different people, some of which are brilliant scientists, exchanging ideas while drinking a local beer with them in a pub somewhere on this globe give joy and meaning to my life.

Where I stand in in terms of wealth nationally or globally is about irrelevant to me, as long as I feel as rich as I do now.
But I recognise that I'm of a rare breed here
