If you're happy, that's good.

The question you asked was how should the government create wealth.

If you're satisfied with the wealth you have, then that's good.

If not, what would be satisfactory?

That's all I was getting at.

Defining specifically what you want is probably a good step to take.

My sense is that people want "more" and no matter how much they have, "more" still sounds better.

That applies to the rich and the poor. If we got our wish and the rich were less rich and we therefore we were more rich, do you think we'd be happier?

Look at the case of lottery winners. It's usually a curse.

All in all, whether its fame or celebrity or fortune or politics or whatever, the people at the top have a good sense of what it took for them to get there, and what it really means and how to handle it.

Just like we look at our bosses and know confidently we could do their job better than they, we think we would be "better" at being rich than the rich. But in most cases where that comes true very quickly its a horrible failure.

Most people are still trying to get a hold of how to live on the money they do have. Giving them more money just aggravates their root problems in the long run.
