>I think 32 bit software will be around for a while yet, but technology moves on so fast these days who knows.
The direction of that motion is under doubt. It's been a while since I saw something really new - perhaps the intelligence behind detecting multiple finger touch, or the ability of today's cameras to detect faces. Most of the rest is just iterations of the existing technologies. Even the SSD, which is the technologically latest and greatest among the things I have in my box, is just a better organization of not-so-new type of memory.
If under technology you mean software, it's still technology, i.e. it needs training to use. Even the word "intuitive" in it has a very perverted meaning, that of "you go clicking around it pretty much the way you were trained previously". The "moves on" part, however, needs to be taken seriously - when Microsoft decides to go certain way, your choices are but a few. They decide to never fix the SMB2 bug (SMB3 is out there, still haven't heard any news about how it behaves and how it interacts with the previous two), you can forget about file sharing technology, record locks and other things which used to work perfectly since DOS 3.x.
