There's also motivation. User Group meetings happen because people volunteer to present and others decide to attend. If those who do neither start assembling towers of extra expectation with snide comments about competence for those who will not put out, it can sour the experience for everybody. Seems to me it is for volunteers to decide the extent of their willingness which probably would be maximized if there is reciprocity rather than everything always expected to flow one way.
